Mr. Leventhal has more than twelve years of experience assisting corporate clients with a variety of legal and business issues. He has held in-house positions with four different companies, the most recent of which was General Counsel of WashingtonVC, LLC, a private equity firm that incubates early stage technology companies through active management and the exchange of technologies and services. During Mr. Leventhalís tenure at WashingtonVC, he was responsible for managing the companyís legal affairs, including negotiating and structuring investments. He also played a key role in business development and operational management for both WashingtonVC and its portfolio companies. Mr. Leventhal joined the company at its inception in 2006 and was instrumental to its growth. He continues to represent WashingtonVC as outside counsel.
Prior to joining WashingtonVC, Mr. Leventhal managed a successful solo practice which he resumed since leaving the exclusive employ of WashingtonVC in June of 2009. He originally started his solo practice after leaving Teligent, Inc., a public telecommunications company, where he served as Senior Counsel for six years. Brianís extensive business law experience includes complex commercial transactions, international joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Brian received his J.D. with honors from Washington College of Law at The American University, and his B.A, from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Maryland Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
